The Cayman Islands All-Tackle record escolar (Lepidocybium flavobrunneum). This time it was local angler Emil Terry who boated the potential record fish; a 78.81 kg (173 pound 12 oz.) monster that he landed in 25 minutes after it hit the strip bait he was drifting with guide Jonathan Ebanks.  www.igfa.org

The escolar a species of fish in the family Gempylidae, is found in deep (200–885 m) tropical and temperate waters around the world. It is also known as snake mackerel, and sometimes is marketed as "butterfish" or "white tuna", a controversial practice due to potential health problems related with consumption of the fish.
