OARFISH (regalecus glesne)






The Oarfish is a large pelagic fish, greatly elongated, and it is a member of the family Regalecidae. The oarfish are known to have a worldwide range in all temperate and tropical oceans. The Oarfish has very small teeth so eats mainly small fishes, plankton,  crustaceans, and squid. Seems that it can live 3000 feet deep in the ocean and can reach the  36 feet (12 meters) and weigh as much as 400 pounds - 180 kilograms.
