Chum Salmon is also called dog salmon, fall salmon or autumn salmon. This salmon is endemic to the Pacific and also Arctic Oceans, the Bering Sea, the Sea of Japan, and the Okhotsk Sea. In North America it lives from the San Lorenzo River in California, to northwest Alaska, and east to the Peel, MacKenzie, possibly Anderson Rivers. Chum Salmon during spawning it is known to ascend some rivers for considerable distances 1,200 miles or 2,100 kilometres.
