TROUT GOLDEN (Oncorhynchus aguabonita)

This beautiful and colorfull golden trout was caught by angler Rick Mickelsen. He caught the monster in Wyoming’s "Golden Lake", using a nymph fly. The trout measured in at 54 cm. and is currently undergoing the review process for all-tackle "length" world record.

Golden trout is native only to the upper Kern River basin in the Tulare and Kern Counties, California, (USA) . This trout occurs in clear, cool waters at elevations higher than 6,900 ft (2200 m). Due to its coloration and markings it is considered one of the most beautiful of "all" freshwater game fishes.
