GROUPER GIANT (epinephelus lanceolatus)


An huge world record size grouper giant caught off Letham Island in Tanzania on board J. Alexiou and M.Martinengo boat (www.fishingtanzania.20m.com). This All Tackle IGFA record fish was 179.50 kilograms - 395 pound (www.igfa.org).



Angler Paul Hunt caught this nice Queensland Groper jigging over Lynedoch Bank off the top of the Tiwi's in Australia.


An huge 683 pound - 310 kg giant grouper was  caught off the coast of the Spratly Islands in China.

The giant grouper (Epinephelus lanceolatus) is also known  as the Queensland groper in Australia, brown spotted cod or bumblebee grouper. this huge grouper is one of the biggest fishes in the Pacific and Indian Ocean. It si found from Tanzania to all south Pacific Ocean.The giant grouper  reaches up to 2,5 meters (7,5 feet) in length and 400 kilogram (883 pound) in weight; there are unconfirmed reports of it growing much bigger, up to 1300 pounds.
