Argyrosomus regius (also known as Meagre, Shade-fish, Salmon-Basse or Stone Basse) is a fish of the Sciaenidae family. It has a similar form to a European seabass, with a pearly-silver coloration and a yellow-coloured mouth. Meagre is a carnivore that lives in pelagic coastal areas. Its depth distribution ranges 15–300 m. Habitats include the Atlantic Ocean (from France to Senegal) and the Mediterranean Sea.
