The sablefish is a members of the fish family Anoplopomatidae and the only species in the Anoplopoma genus. This predator fish is a species of deep cold sea common to the North Pacific ocean. Sablefish lives depths of  1100 to 9500 feet or 350 to 2,800 meter. Can grow to four feet and weigh 40 pounds.
