BUTTERFLY KINGFISH (Gasterochisma melampus)

The butterfly kingfish (Gasterochisma melampus) is an ocean-dwelling ray-finned bony fish in the Mackerel family, Scombridae.

This predator fish is also called butterfly tuna, or bigscale mackerel. This fish can be found around the world in southern temperate waters of 9–15 °C or 48–59 °F, but most commonly under 12 °C or 55 °F, and at depths of up to 220 meters - 680 feet in the open ocean.
